Markets are looking alright going into open. They are slightly down from close yesterday which is unfortunate, but C’est la vie.
Thoughts & Comments from 7/20/2022
Yesterday was an amazing day for the markets and a very interesting day for some organizations.
$SPY made a new low of $390.89 pre-market which was unfortunate, but right after the morning rally, dip and rally again, $SPY made a new high of $396.26. Things were looking beautiful until we started to unfortunately sell off extremely quickly, making a new relative low around $392.50 and closed the day at $394.77. It is unfortunate that we were not able to close above $395 as that would have created a significant amount of confidence in the markets, but eh. Not much we can do about it
After hours we had 2 insane movements, First was $TSLA. Everyone was watching Tesla after hours.
Right after close, Tesla hit $778 on the pump and unfortunately came right back down, Tesla is currently trading at $762.33 +19.83 (2.67%).
The other organization with major movement after hours was $CCL. Carnival announced that they are doing a $1B share offering. So after they ran 7% yesterday and closing at $11.09, they are now trading at $9.79 −1.30 (11.72%).
RIP people who are holding $CCL long, but it is a great opportunity to sit back and acquire free equity in this organization while equity is cheap.

Thoughts & Comments for Today 7/21/2022
Today should be an interesting day for the markets. With the current market conditions, I truly do not know which direction we will move. With Tesla having great earnings yesterday, I would personally want to be extremely bullish today. With major economic news coming out with the ECB, we did dip down hard, but were able to instantly recover.
Personally I am conflicted on the specific direction the market will go.
Honestly, with the current movement and momentum we have though, I would expect that there will be many trading opportunities.
Please capitalize on these opportunities when given an opportunity to do so, make some great trades, be quick, don’t be greedy and realize some gains.
Make sure to practice safe risk management today, because in the case that the markets come down, that sell off will be disgusting.
Limit your downside risk and have a great time in the process.

Very interesting on the movement of the algorithms yesterday against the markets. It was unfortunate that the markets beat us heavily across the board, but very interesting to see that the new algorithm we are working on was able to actively decrease risk, but at the same time, out perform the market. We will keep a close eye on this system and when we have enough confidence to publish it, this will be the newest addition to our quickly developing trading strategy.
Today, we will NOT be utilizing Kokomo. With the current market conditions, we will be purchasing utilizing the Base Algorithm for the day, while actively only utilizing roughly 50% of the portfolio. Positions will be bought with the intentions of BAOSAC, but we will close out positions early if given an opportunity to do so.
All positions will be created prior to markets opening and published for you all in real time.

Swing Opportunities:
I’d recommend starting to sell OTM CC’s on equities you’ve purchased over the past few days to be able to actively hedge your portfolio in the case of a downturn. This limits your possible upside potential, but in the case that market conditions get worst, you are able to at least realize some gains in the process.
I would not look into trying to time out any plays right now in the markets while trying to get a swing opportunity, but still continue to DCA on equity and if you are looking to average down on long equities that you don’t have the best average with, make sure to start slowly averaging down as we should see relatively better prices coming up over the next couple weeks.
