HaiKhuu Daily Report 3/07/2023
Good morning and happy Tuesday! Markets are relatively flat at the time of writing this report, but we are geared up to have a lot of fun today. Jerome Powell is testifying to the senate today at 10 am EST, so expect a significant amount of general momentum based solely on his statements. Markets will be extremely volatile, presenting us with many opportunities to realize a significant amount of gains and many opportunities to see some bearish momentum.
Please be extremely careful trading today, but take advantage of the momentum and opportunities that are presented to us. You will either make a significant amount of realized gains today or watch as the majority of the markets suffer over these next two days. Good luck because we will need it!
Thoughts & Comments from 3/06/2023
Yesterday was a tough yet interesting day for the markets. We saw a significant amount of both bullish and bearish momentum throughout the day that presented us with a great opportunity to play both the upside and the downside, but for the overall investor, did not provide us with many consistent great opportunities.
We started the day with $SPY opening at $405.08, actively testing the $405 support level and watched as the markets went on an absolute tear. We rallied up for the majority of the first two hours of the trading day, where we made an official high of the day with $SPY trading at $407.44, providing us with an amazing opportunity to go long and realize gains on solid positions. This as expected, was not able to hold, where we saw a significant amount of downside in the markets. We sold off as quickly as we started to rally and as a result of this we went on to test new relative lows of the day, making an official low trading at $404.03, going officially red for the day at the low. There was not many opportunities to scalp to the downside as we were going up, and there were not many opportunities to scalp to the upside while we were going down.
People had a tough time shorting at the beginning of the day as the markets continued to slowly grind up, and a lot of people had a tough time trying to find the bottom when the markets were coming down. Hopefully, none of you got burnt in the process of everything and were able to capitalize on the shift in the general market momentum and realized some gains in the process.
$SPY ended the day trading at $404.47, up $0.28 or approximately +0.069%, with an intraday movement of -0.14%. The overall intraday and day-to-day movement of the markets were not significant in any way, shape or form and did not really provide us any major movement in the grand scheme of things, but when you take into account the intraday movement from the top to the bottom, you would have seen that there was a significant amount of movement and opportunities to trade.
I hope you all had fun yesterday and were able to realize some gains in the process of everything, and are ready to kill it today. With JP speaking today, there will be a lot of general volatility in the markets, and I hope you all will kill it!
Thoughts & Comments for Today, 3/07/2023
Today as I said before, will be an extremely volatile and fun day for the general markets. With Jerome Powell speaking after market open, I do expect to see increased volume and volatility following what is specifically stated. Please be careful when looking to actively invest or trade today as a result of this. Some people will realize a significant amount of gains while trading today, and a significant amount of people will be burnt today. Do what you can to limit your downside exposure and take advantage of all of the opportunities that are available today.
We are edging at the upper end of neutral in the fear and greed index, which in my opinion, is a sign of optimism for me, while the markets are not feeling relatively strong at the moment. I will look at the event today as an opportunity to actively trade and invest in the short term, giving us all a great opportunity to get some solid allocations and average into positions that I am already holding.
An organization I do want to get into in the short term is $GOOGL. I do not anticipate entering too soon, but will be looking for an opportunity to enter in the near future around the mid $80 range. That would be an ideal entry, and I would scale into my position accordingly. I am looking to average into my position on $RIVN after there was news about the convertible notes offering. This is a concern I have in the short term for active trading and investing, but it is not an issue in the grand scheme of things over the span of a couple of months.
Just please be careful today and tomorrow in the general markets, as the only thing that will heavily impact the markets suddenly is Jerome Powell speaking today and tomorrow. The markets will flip like a switch depending on what is said, and the result of that has greater consequences.
Ideally, the markets do rip and rally like no tomorrow, but that may not be the situation, and you should prepare accordingly. Just limit your downside risk and take advantage of any opportunity that is presented to you in real-time. If the markets do come down, please be rational with your decisions and be logical. Take your gains at the top, and cut your losses when it hits your specific threshold.

HaiKhuu Proprietary Algorithm Report:
Yesterday was an alright day for the algorithms, with some underwhelming results. The long-term portfolio did great, providing us with some positive returns in comparison to both our technical analysis and general market exposure. I am happy with that but not excited about the base algorithm. That underperformed by approximately half a percent compared to the positive return of the long-term portfolio. I am not worried about these results, but it is simply just a result of a tough day for technical analysis. C’est la vie, there is not much we can do about it, and there is not much that I personally am worried about in the short term!
The results of yesterday are as followed:
Baseline:
$SPY: -0.14%
Our Results:
Long-Term Portfolio 0.21%
Market Neutral 0.02%
Variable Market Neutral -0.17%
Sector Neutral -0.24%
Variable Sector Neutral -0.32%
Base Algorithm -0.35%

With Jerome Powell speaking both today and tomorrow, please be careful taking any general alerts in these market conditions. Markets should perform prospectively better, but I want to warn you all to be careful of the general market consistency at this point.
Cherrypick your favorite positions that you believe will outperform and realize some gains when given an opportunity to do so. Set stop losses and increase those limits to guarantee some profits!
